Originally from Torreón, Mexico, Mauricio began his musical studies with Tatul Yeghiazarián (violin) and Francisco Valdez (music theory, solfège, and harmony). After completing his secondary education, he enrolled at the Universidad de Guadalajara to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Music under the guidance of Professors Vladimir Milchtein and subsequently Konstantin Zioumbilov, also receiving advanced training with Maestro Cuauhtémoc Rivera.

He later relocated to Milan, Italy, where he studied at the Accademia Internazionale della Musica under the tutelage of Matteo Pastori and Viktoria Terekiev. He subsequently moved to Cremona, Italy, to continue his training at the Conservatorio Claudio Monteverdi di Cremona, studying with Professor Laura Gorna and Professor Roberto Noferini, while also regularly attending advanced courses led by Maestro Salvatore Accardo.

He has received various awards and distinctions, including the FONCA National Scholarship for Studies Abroad (2011–2012). He was also recognised as an “Outstanding Student” at the conservatoire, which granted him the use of the “San Tommaso” violin by Stefano Conia. In addition, he has completed a diploma in pedagogy at the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional in Mexico.

He has performed with a range of orchestras in both Italy and Mexico, and served as Co-Principal Second Violin with the Camerata de Coahuila. Throughout his career, he has also worked as a violin teacher in various institutions in Italy, Mexico, and New Zealand.
