Terms and Conditions

Fees

-Fees are charged on a ‘per term’ basis and must be paid in full before the first lesson of term.

-If payment is not received, an email reminder will be sent out with a deadline for payment. If payment is not received by this date, a late penalty of up to 10% may be applied.

-Lessons begin from the first week of our school terms (term dates available on our website). All students will be invoiced for the entirety of each term (i.e. minimum of 10 lessons per term), unless enrolling mid-way through a term (these students will be charged for the remaining weeks of term).

-If you wish to cancel your enrolment with the school, you must give a minimum of 4 weeks notice. Please note that if 4 weeks of notice is not given, these lessons cannot be refunded. Group classes are not refundable.

-In addition to the lesson fees, the student understands that the full costs of music training at CMA may include (but are not necessarily limited to) books, materials and examination board fees that are not provided by the school, and must be paid for at the student’s expense.

Lessons and Cancellation Policy

-Students are expected to be punctual for all lessons. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to extend the time slot if a student is late.

-The student is expected to commit to the allocated lesson time for the entirety of the term or period paid for at the time of enrolment. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to change your lesson time at a later point.

-The student must inform the school of any cancellations 5 days before the scheduled lesson, otherwise no make-up lesson can be arranged by the office. Fees will not be refunded for late cancellations.

-In the event of a lesson being cancelled at late notice, the student’s teacher may provide homework in the form of extra music, instructions or video/audio recordings in place of the cancelled lesson. The teacher may also, at their discretion, arrange a makeup time for the missed lesson with the student directly.

-If the student is unwell, it may be possible to arrange an online Skype lesson at the regularly scheduled lesson time.

-In the event that the student’s regular teacher is unable to attend a lesson, the school will either provide a substitute teacher or inform you of the cancellation. In the case of a cancellation, either a makeup lesson during the term or a lesson credit for the following term will be arranged.

-Lessons cancelled with sufficient notice can be made up during school holiday periods. If it not possible for either the teacher or student to do so, these may be credited to the next term.

-The school reserves the right to change the student’s regular teacher at any point during the term.

-Your lesson fees cover lessons either in person (face to face) or online.

-The school reserves the right to refuse or cancel a student’s enrolment.

Makeup Lessons and Lesson Credits

-In the case that a lesson has been cancelled by the teacher, or the parent has given 5 or more days’ notice of the cancellation, the office will organise a makeup lesson for any lessons missed during the term. These makeup lessons will take place either during the same term as the missed lesson, or the following school holidays, at a time suitable for both the student and the teacher.

-If a suitable timeslot for a makeup lesson cannot be arranged, missed lessons may be credited to the following term. Lessons credited to the next term cannot be refunded and will be scheduled in addition to the next term’s regularly scheduled lessons (minimum 10 lessons per term). Credits for additional lessons must be used within the calendar year they are given, but can be used for additional lessons during the summer holidays/before Term 1 of the following year.

-If required, a substitute teacher may be arranged in order to complete makeup lessons or credits unable to be arranged with the student’s regularly scheduled teacher.

Health and Safety

-Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied at all times on the premises (when not in a lesson) by a parent or suitable guardian over the age of 18. Parents/guardians of these children are required to be present immediately before and after lessons, and may also request to be present during the lessons, at the teacher’s discretion.

-The school will take all reasonable care during lessons to ensure the student’s wellbeing. However, the school is not liable for any loss, damage or injury incurred on the premises.

-The parent/guardian understands that during lessons no other adults other than school teaching staff will be present to supervise the student.

-In the event of a student requiring urgent medical treatment, the school will arrange this at the expense of the student or parent/guardian, and the parent/guardian will be notified immediately.

-It is upon the discretion of the school to allow any person to enter or stay on the premises. Students must at all times conduct themselves in a way that ensures their own safety, the safety of others and of the equipment in the school.

-Damage to the premises or equipment caused by students, parents/guardians or other visitors will be repaired at the expense of the person who caused the damage.

Holiday Programmes

-All holiday programmes are subject to sufficient enrolments being received. Enrolment will be confirmed once payment has been received.
